Bantham surf life saving club has just returned from the National Inshore rescue boat (IRB) championships 2016 held in Exmouth. Devon. The competition tests the skills of IRB drivers and crew through various simulated rescues.
Once again, the sun was out for the IRB championships and there was a great buzz of anticipation in the air. The Bantham team where in great spirits and their teamwork paid off with excellent results! The men’s team took first and second place in the coveted blue ribbon single recue event. The ladies team had a superb day with two national titles in the single and mass rescue event. The masters got two silver medals in the single and tube event.
