Seniors (16 yrs old +)
All senior members of the club are encouraged to further their knowledge and training in all aspects of beach safety at Bantham. The club is committed to delivering a sustainable and safe level of service on the beach on Sundays in line with RNLI standards and as such needs seniors to take responsibility for a number of roles.
One of the primary focuses for the club for the 2008 season is to get more qualified (NARS - National Rescue Standard Beach Lifeguard award) seniors patrolling the beach on Sundays.
Training takes place from 14:00–15:00 on Sundays throughout the season plus one evening a week (details to be confirmed). Please speak to Mike Elliot for further information.
The club is looking to run a series of first aid training sessions on Sundays for any senior member throughout the season. The club needs qualified first aiders who are not lifeguards to assist in running the beach. Once again please see the club notice board for further details.
Swim training takes place for all Seniors every Wednesday night in Kingsbridge pool all year round. During the summer the pool is available from 19:00 – 20:30 for all seniors to train. Winter training will start on October 1st 2008.
