MayBritish Paddleboard Series - sponsored by Bennett. Sponsored by Bennett Paddles, the series is aimed at increasing participation in Life Saving Sport as well as giving our top athletes a chance to battle it out over the British series title. Nipper to Master age group categories will be available and every club entering a competitor who completes the race, will be eligible for the chance to win a brand new Bennett Paddle board! The more competitors entered who complete the race, the greater the chance your club has to win a prize. Plus! Your club could win up to four paddle boards in the accumulated barrel draw!
MayBritish Surf Ski Series - sponsored by Icon.
JulyWine Do - Wine tasting competition led by master of wine, Liam Stevenson of Red & White Wine, Kingsbridge. Blind tasting of 10 wines, match them to pictures of surf breaks from around the world and win. £20 per ticket covers all the wine with all profits going towards sending a team to the natiaonal IRB club championships in September.
8th August(tbc)The Open day is the clubs main fundraiser for the year so hope for some good weather. At the club there will be a BBQ, teas, coffees and cakes as well as some craft stalls, a sand castle competition, ice creams, a raffle and club demonstration to the public at 15:00hrs
5th SeptemberInterclub nipper and junior championships on the beach – followed by prize giving, awards and BBQ at the Sloop Inn Bantham from 17:00hrs. All Nippers and Juniors are invited to participate and will be placed into teams and compete in a series of individual and team races: flags, sprints, board paddles etc. Prizes will be awarded for best individual, team and most improved. The prize giving ceremony will be held in the Sloop Inn at 18:15 with a BBQ for all club members from 17:00. The club will be running a free BBQ out the back of the Sloop with drinks available from the bar.
12th SeptemberNaRS exam for club members.
19th SeptemberLast patrolling day for the club.
25th - 26th SeptemberBritish Long Distance Championships, September 2010. With gruelling races in 4 disciplines, the Long Distance Championships. Pit yourself against the best Long Distance Surf Life Saving GB athletes in this challenging event.
25th - 26th SeptemberBritish & European Inshore Rescue Boat Championships. Another great addition to the calendar is the British and European Inshore Rescue Boat Championships which will take place in Bournemouth
30th SeptemberRNLI season finish. Club House closed
